The designer, Andreas Kowalewski’s intention was to come up with a family of low tables which are both practical and simple, all in solid wood, which are capable of revealing both the beauty of the materials and the craftsmanship of those who assembled them. If the choice of twin tops serves to add to the functional capacity the cross shaped arrangement further underlines the quality of the construction.
The use of a contrasting species and colour of solid wood for the base, black-stained ash fully accentuates the richness and the warmth of the solid walnut tops, each piece if wood is carefully selected for its colour and grain.
Finally the visible joints at the tops of the legs, being set into the tops are not only decorative in purpose but also highlight the perfect precision of the tables construction.
